Volunteer

Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity loves volunteers!  Within the past two years we have had 6,500 volunteers who have worked more than 40,000 hours on Habitat projects.  We are so thankful for each one of our volunteers and couldn’t have done the job without them!

Are you interested in volunteering with us?  Just send an email to our volunteer coordinator for more information.  If you are registering a group, we will need to know the dates you want to serve, the number of volunteers in your group, and the construction skill level of the volunteers.  Individual volunteers are welcome too!

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • General Construction – Skilled and unskilled construction volunteers are always welcome. You just need a desire to learn and help. You can expect to do projects such as framing, siding, painting and landscaping.
  • Committee Members – Committees include the Family Selection Committee, Church Relations Committee, Public Relations Committee, and Fund Development Committee.
  • ReStore Volunteers – The ReStore is a great place to volunteer for cashier, floor clerk, delivery pick ups, and assist customers.
Typical workday is from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm. Lunch is not provided. Bring your own water and be sure to wear close-toed shoes (tennis shoes are fine). Tools will be provided. Anyone is welcome to bring their own tools but Joplin Habitat is not responsible for them.
