Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity is proud to partner with Habitat Cote d’Ivoire.
For the past several years, JAHFH’s annual tithe has gone directly to HFHCI to support the important work they are doing to provide housing and safe water and sanitation to the people of Cote d’Ivoire.
Between 2017 and 2022 Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity gave $100,000 to help people around the globe.
Habitat Côte d’Ivoire’s work focuses on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Community led Total Sanitation; Orphans and Vulnerable Group Housing; Save and Build houses; and advocacy for Land property.
HFHCI builds houses and latrines using appropriate technology and local building materials. The designs are simple and spacious and cater to the individual families’ needs, while remaining affordable for the homeowners. Houses consist of two or three bedrooms and a hall. Smaller houses are currently planned with Soil Blocks Bricks in order to reach families in the lowest income groups.
